An unlikely friendship between a sheltered, private school girl and an audacious, young gangster results in an unconventional business deal. To 18-year-old Dana, having to dodge bullets on the way home from field hockey practice is simply a part of life. Her scholarship is her ticket out of Tulsa, Oklahoma. On the first day of senior year, the new kid turns out to be the fearless Che who has made a name for himself in the local drug game.

Once Dana passes a test of trustworthiness with flying colors, Che begins to share with her the cornerstones of survival on the streets. The door to a raw, new world has now been opened. Just as their friendship sprouts legs, Che is sentenced to a short stint in prison.

While he is away, Dana starts doing random favors for him without realizing the gravity of the situation. Counting money here and there - she naively thinks she is simply helping out a friend. She ends up taking over the reigns of Che's hustling empire, which makes her a lot of enemies FAST! Foolishly, she falls victim to the same line of thinking as those in the world she is now surrounded by... that she can get in and get out before the game catches up with her.

On the car ride home from prison both Che and Dana are surprised to find out that neither of them is the same person they were when they met. Before they reach home, they are ambushed. When the smoke clears from the gunfight, not everyone is left standing.
